It seems to me that the saying "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" is a pretty important and powerful message. As with any person in aviation, being at home for more than a few weeks at a time can be a rare thing. As pilots both Nicole and I travel for work. It takes us away from home fairly often and can a difficult thing to manage. However, being apart I find really makes me appreciate all of the greatness that she has to offer. I'm not only talking about the physical stuff, but the emotional support she offters as well.
If you're in the same loop of being home every single night with your partner, how about planning time to be away from him or her? If they went away to see family or just have some alone time. Let me tell you it makes a huge difference having pesonal time and to refect on what isn't there when they're gone. Sometimes it even helps you figure out if that other person is even right for you at all. The benefits and rewards when they return it the most wonderful thing in the world.
